                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Expressing regret at the passing of Dr. Carson B. "Bucky" 
  1- 2  Burgstiner; and for other purposes. 
 
  1- 3  WHEREAS, Dr. Carson B. "Bucky" Burgstiner  passed away at 
  1- 4  Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina, on May 
  1- 5  26, 1997, at the untimely age of 64; and 
 
  1- 6  WHEREAS, affectionately known as "Bucky," Dr. Burgstiner was 
  1- 7  a prominent Savannah gynecologist and obstetrician for 37 
  1- 8  years until his retirement in March, 1997, and he was active 
  1- 9  in the Medical Association of Georgia, serving as that 
  1-10  organization's president in 1978 and 1979, and he served as 
  1-11  vice chairman to the Medical Association of Georgia's 
  1-12  delegation to the American Medical Association; and 
 
  1-13  WHEREAS, since he contracted Hepatitis B while delivering a 
  1-14  baby in 1983, he developed a keen interest in natural 
  1-15  methods of prevention and treatment, and he settled on an 
  1-16  extract of thymus glands of calves, a regimen also followed 
  1-17  by country singer Naomi Judd, who filmed a television 
  1-18  program on health issues with Dr. Burgstiner; and 
 
  1-19  WHEREAS, he is survived by his wife, Jacque; two sons, 
  1-20  William C. and John M. Burgstiner; three daughters, Helen 
  1-21  Smith, Elizabeth Pittman, and Sally Wagner; 13 
  1-22  grandchildren; and a host of friends. 
 
  1-23  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 
  1-24  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body express their 
  1-25  deepest and most sincere regret at the passing of Dr. Carson 
  1-26  B. "Bucky" Burgstiner and convey condolences to his grieving 
  1-27  family and friends. 
 
  1-28  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 
  1-29  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an 
  1-30  appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Jacque
