Rejuvenase is a proprietary digestive enzyme formulation that dramatically enhances the absorption and assimilation of protein.
Logos Nutritionals is proud to introduce Rejuvenase, a breakthrough digestive enzyme formulation that dramatically enhances the digestion and utilization of protein. Rejuvenase is designed to increase the bioavailability of amino acids and bioactive peptides from protein, and is ideal for individuals on a high protein regimen.
Ideal for Soy, Whey, Casein or Rice Proteins
Improve Protein Digestion and Utilization
Maximize Sports Nutrition and Recovery
Enhance Immunity and Healing Potential
The addition of this enzyme to a protein supplement regimen has been shown to lower the incidence and severity of allergic responses as well as lowering the therapeutic dosage required. Both of these factors (lower dose and reduced inflammatory responses) promote greater comfort and compliance for those taking supplemental protein.
The human body undergoes a constant process of maintenance, replacing cells and repairing tissues. Dietary protein is essential to this process, especially for those with chronic illness or athletic lifestyles.
Nine of the 20 amino acids the body uses are essential (cannot be manufactured by the body) and must be obtained through diet and/or supplementation. However, all amino acids may become essential if the body is unable to produce them or produce them fast enough to keep up with the demand for protein synthesis. Unlike fat and starch, the human body does not store excess amino acids for later use the amino acids must be in the food supply every day.
People with low protein diets or eating disorders, liver disease, diabetes or people with certain genetic conditions may need to take amino acid supplements to avoid a deficiency. Physically active people may need to supplement with whey protein due to the high rate of protein synthesis that occurs when building and repairing muscle and tissue during and after workouts. Whey protein supplementation is also a common practice to promote muscle building and muscle recovery for people who experience muscle wasting due to disease or treatment of disease. In all these cases, whey supplementation has been shown to increase muscle protein synthesis and reduce muscle protein degradation.
Rejuvenase is designed to be taken in conjunction with whey or another protein supplement in order to facilitate pre-digestion of the protein, maximizing the availability of amino acids and reducing the number of large, inflammatory peptides.
When whey protein is properly digested, it is broken down in the digestive tract into small peptides, and eventually into amino acids to be absorbed in the intestines. To be effective, whey protein must be completely broken down within 90 minutes of consumption; otherwise, the protein goes undigested and is excreted from the body. When whey protein is not broken down completely, larger peptides (composed of more than seven amino acids) may trigger an immune response, causing inflammation, bloating, cramping, nausea and discomfort in the gut.
Rejuvenase breaks down large peptides, reducing the potential for inflammation and discomfort. In fact, research indicates that Rejuvenase breaks down the large peptides into smaller, more biologically active peptides that fall within the optimum size range. This is critically important since proteins not only catalyze all (or most) of the reactions in living cells, they control virtually all cellular processes.
Please Note: We will soon release a pre-mixed version of our whey protein called Renaissance Activated Whey Protein w/ Rejuvenase.
